Rubio was born in Mexico City, Mexico on June 17, 1971, Rubio began her singing career at ten years old when she joined the children's pop group called Timbiriche with whom she would record 11 albums. Rubio left Timbiriche in 1991 and released her first solo album the following year La Chica Dorada (The Golden Girl), it would go on to sell more than 1.2 million copies worldwide. Rubio released the albums 24 Kilates (24 Karats), El Tiempo Es Oro (Time Is Gold) and Planeta Paulina before taking a break. Rubio came back to produce her ever more popular albums Paulina, Border Girl, Pau-Latina and Ananda reaching the #1 spot in the U.S. and countries all over Latin America. Rubio has sold over 17 million albums worldwide as a solo artist.
