This program can be used to speed up the scanning of photo and postcard collections. Its automatic image extraction means that you can place several photos (or postcards etc) on the scanner and do a single scan, letting the program extract the images for you. Each individual image can then be adjusted in size and color and saved with a meaningful name. The individual images can also be copied to the Windows clipboard. RansenScan's quick and easy interface means that you select, correct, save and or print images in seconds, not minutes. While printed images degrade slowly, digitally saved images degrade suddenly and catastrophically. That is why RansenScan has printing functions included. You can print the images directly from the program, without going to an intermediate program. Old photographs can be adjusted to have higher contrast, and CMYK adjustment sliders are provided, as well as Hue Saturation and Value slders. You can even have different details of the same image printed on the same page, an example use of this a group photograph, with larger named portraits taken from the group positioned below the group photo. In fact RansenScan is ideal for this even with non scanned photographs, simply open the group photograph as a normal image file. RansenScan works with any Twain compatible scanner, and often gives better automatic sub image extraction than the software provided with the scanner itself. Added to this the fact that you can also do manual extraction of image detail areas with the program makes RansenScan flexible as well as being easy to use.
